![]() So I will make a list of the things I have done so far ,so to be easy to troubleshout it:ġ. The intresting thing here is whne I have conected the Dell Optiplex PC from HDMI to hDMI to another monitor it is ouputing a signal, hence the problem is not in the Optiplex PC for sure. I have purchased DP to HDMI cables and have tried to connect the second Dell monitor ,which is brand new from the box but ,no joy,no signal via the HDMI to DP port conection, if I switch to DP to DP conection ,spot on ,no prolmes the monitors shines on! But if I tried to conencted via HDMI to DP port conection HDMI (form the PC) to DP to the Dell E2422H, there is no joy at all. We bought another monitor from the same model and we want to connect it like a secondary via the only video output (conection) left HDMI and because this model monitors as you probly guess or know don't have HDMI input. The problem is following, so we have Dell Optiplexes 3080 SFF desktops has DisplayPort, will call it short DP and HDMI outputs for video signals only, built-in on the board of the PC.Īt the moment we have 1x Dell E2422H conected via DP to DP conection and it is all working fine. So I have a big ask and a big problem and I really hope someone could help me and answer me because since now I have spoken with 3 Dell suppport technicians today on the phone with no result. ![]() I'm IT tech in a school and I'm very happy that I just have registered and joined this great Dell community forum. Use a DisplayPort Cable that you have tested on another working system too, to ensure that the original cable is not faulty. Try moving the display to another system that works with a DisplayPort configured display and see if a different display works on the affected system. If the display still does not receive a signal. If the cable connections are correct, then the next step is to adjust the OSD menu to ensure that the correct port is selected to receive the system's video signal. These displays have both Input and Output DisplayPort connections and the input connection "DP in" or "mini-DP in" is used to connect the display to the system. The first thing to check is the DisplayPort cable connection on the display. If you receive an "No DisplayPort Cable" error message when setting up the display. No DisplayPort Cable Error Troubleshooting Due to this, the input port must be manually selected. Note: Displays that have more than 3 input options cannot be configured for "Autodefect" like less advanced displays. Systems or displays without these cable connections require specialized adapters to connect to these ports. Many TVs and multimedia devices use HDMI connections. HDMI is the oldest of modern display connections, also allowing for Video and Audio data through the same cable. Mini-DisplayPort has many of the same features of DisplayPort with a smaller connector. It also allows for Multi-Stream Technology (MST) connections of 2 or more MST capable displays through one DisplayPort connection. HDMI (Two port allowing HDMI connections to 2 devices) (See Figure 3)ĭisplayPort is the most versatile connection type allowing both video and audio data transmission. ![]() The cable configuration from the computer graphics adapter must match the cable input to the display. If your system does not support a DisplayPort connection, you must purchase the appropriate cable for your system. Note: The Default cable that is packaged with Dell DisplayPort capable displays is the Mini-DisplayPort (mDP) to DisplayPort (DP) cable. ![]()
